    Abstract:   EDITOR'S NOTE: Along with this letter Tricia sent a poem about the border, the Rí­o Grande and its meaning. This poem along with poems from 5 other poets are at the heart of the April issue of La Voz. We are hopeful as a new administration begins governing the U.S. but must remain ever vigilant and continue to hold all of our officeholders accountable to the people. After all, democracy means demos kratos, power to the people or rule by the people and we must make every effort to secure that power in the power to vote that is now in jeopardy.
